In this project, our clients came to Amico with plans to upgrade the space available in their beautiful detached cottage through a double-storey extension. Our Solution
For a project like this, the measured survey is crucial. Detailed measurements and extensive inspections are the best way to ensure we maintain as much of the original property as possible. Our clients planned to replace the diagonal wall at the left of the property with a perpendicular one to maximise their space. The measured survey allowed us to develop a viable construction plan.
Once the plans were clear, we turned our attention towards obtaining planning permission. Our team put together detailed planning drawings to ensure our clients obtained all the necessary permissions to move forward with their extension. We compiled a clear and organised planning application, and once approved, we created building regulation drawings for hitch-free construction.
As you can see from the photos below, the extension was complete without impacting the cottage’s style or personality. By re-aligning the wall, our clients have completely transformed their living space. This project demonstrates how simple structural changes to a property can make a major impact.
